The guinea pig pension
Information and reservations
Information.
The guinea pig boarding facility is now open. Visits to the boarding facility are now possible.
It is made up of 6 stalls of 2 square meters. I wanted to offer guinea pigs coming for boarding an space to meet all their needs. Guinea pigs, being more timid by nature than rabbits, prefer more confined spaces to feel good and safe.
At my place, all the enclosures are individual. Only guinea pigs that were already living together before coming for boarding can go in the same enclosure.
Your guinea pig will therefore be free in a 2 square meter space entirely designed for its well-being.
They are equipped with toys of different textures, as well as numerous hiding places and resting areas.
The rate includes food (all-you-can-eat hay, all-you-can-eat organic vegetables and fruits, pellets if necessary), litter, and bottled water.
However, if you want your guinea pig to have more space, it is entirely possible in that case to book a rabbit hutch, but the price will then be that of a rabbit hutch.Â
Reservation terms.
It is better book in advance because the boarding kennel fills up very, very quickly during the school holidays, for the long holiday weekends as well as June and September (sometimes several months in advance).
To make the reservation, you can do so by phone or mail or when you come to visit me, which I highly recommend.
The minimum stay is 3 paid days (note, 5 days minimum in high season: see below).
To make a reservation, the following procedure applies to all stays and will not tolerate any exceptions, whether the test subject has been here before or not:
Stays of less than 5 days : payment of the’the full cost of the stay (to my bank account, or in cash) within 3 calendar days, following the day of booking
Stays of 5 days or more payment of a 50 % down payment of the total price of the boarding, to my bank account or in cash, within 3 calendar days following the day of booking.
The balance must be paid within 10 days prior to the start of the stay or settled at the pension on the day of arrival (payment by cash or credit card).
Your reservation is only valid if you follow the procedure described above exactly as stated. If you do not, the reserved box may be given to another guest, and we will not be held liable for any resulting disputes. Thank you very much in advance for your understanding.
During peak season
Period: School holidays and from June through September
Stays must be at least 5 paid days long.Â
Since these periods are crucial for maintaining business, stays that are too short (which almost always fall on weekends) would result in the cabins remaining vacant for too long, thereby preventing longer stays. This is why we have a minimum 5-day stay requirement during our high season. Please keep this in mind at all times; thank you for your cooperation.
Deposit: Upon booking, please transfer 50% of the total cost of the stay (please include the pet’s name and the dates of the stay in the payment notes).
Balance: Upon the guinea pig’s arrival at the boarding facility, payable in cash, by Bancontact card, or by bank transfer (at least 10 days before the guinea pig arrives at my boarding facility).
For all cancellations, please give at least 3 weeks' notice; otherwise, the deposit will be due.
Prices are always listed per day of occupancy. Please note that, on the one hand, any day that has begun is due, and on the other hand, all days that have been reserved are and remain due, even in the event of an early departure. Therefore, please always make sure to book the appropriate period. Thank you in advance for keeping this in mind and ensuring compliance.
Our recommendations for guinea pigs.
- To comfortably set up your guinea pig's hutch, I'll take care of everything: the litter, the toys, blankets or others baskets and bowls. But you can always bring along a favorite item or a small blanket that smells like home and you (a sweater, for example), which will help reassure them even more, especially if this is their first time away from home.
- When you bring your little one to me, we will fill out an intake form together that includes your contact information, your pet’s details, an emergency contact person in your absence, the contact information for your regular veterinarian, your guinea pig’s behavior, feeding habits, any health concerns to watch for, and whether any medication needs to be administered (regarding this last point, I prefer to be informed as soon as possible so that I can decide and/or verify the feasibility and implications for a boarding stay, if such a stay is recommended by the veterinarian, etc.)
- If there is any problem, I will contact your veterinarian first. If he or she is unable to come for any reason, we will then call on the veterinarian in charge of the boarding facility; in any case, your regular veterinarian will always be kept informed of any treatment provided. That way, he or she can follow up personally and provide you with any necessary explanations.
- Wondering how your guinea pig is doing during its stay? You’re always welcome to contact me to check in—whether by phone, text, email, or through a third party.
- If a quick phone call would put your mind at ease... The goal of the boarding facility is to ensure you can leave with complete peace of mind.
- If your guinea pig is following a treatment , No problem, I'll make sure to give it to him on time, just as we do at your place. Always inform me in advance (when booking a stay or during a visit to my facilities) regarding treatment to be administered or various issues to monitor
